这好像是个经典的扯皮题。不过我还是觉得这里用IS更好一些，比较符合主谓一致的原则。

Actually it'll be better to write "is" cuz "food" is a singular noun.

这是我个人的看法了.
food指不不同种类的食物的时候才是可数名字,在这里因为只列举了两个具体的,所以应该当不可数名字用,be动词当然应该用is.
group是可数名词,这里列举两种,就应该用复数,be动词选用are...
