读阅是提高英语水平的好办法!

在学生对基本句型及词汇有了一定的基础之后,阅读是在没有语言环境的情况下提高英语的好方法之一。下面是我带学生阅读欣赏的一节课(己收入我出版的一本书内),本意在于让学生解英文文章结构,并培养学生写出好文章,不知这样讲阅读可否?

     Weekend homework should be abolished(废除).(该句为主题句,既文章中心思想)①Five days (which are) devoted to school are enough for the modern teenager who has many other time-consuming(强烈的) interests.(英国人非常喜欢使用定语从句,这样的句子中国人往往用两句话表达,而英国人往往用一句话表达)②With homework (which is) scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, when can he find time to help around the house, take in a football or baseball game or a good movie, join in family recreation, or just relax? (进一步说明理由)③Because of all these other activities weekend homework is usually put off until Sunday night.(造成的后果)④As a result weekend homework is done so poorly that on Monday teachers threaten to fail whole classes of students who haven’t the haziest notion of what the lesson is about.(造成的后果)If there were no homework to haunt weekends, students would go to school on Monday well rested and willing to work.(文章结论及作者观点)Teachers, don’t you agree?

注解:全文中心明确、理由充足、后果严重、作者态度鲜明,其中使用了大量的定语从句、状语从句,而且许多定语从句被省略成过去分词做定语,使文章显得更为简练,如:
Five days (which are) devoted to school are enough for the modern teenager who has many other time-consuming interests.

如果不把第一个定语从句省略,在一个句子中出现两个定语从句,文章显得累赘,不像书面语。

With homework (which is) scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, when can he find time to help around the house, take in a football or baseball game or a good movie, join in family recreation, or just relax?

如果在homework后面用定语从句,句子就会显得冗长。
最后,作者在结尾时还反问一句 Teachers, don’t you agree? 既幽默,又咄咄逼人。
希望同学们课下认真研究这篇文章的结构,吸取精华。
最后值得一提的是用词,作者在文章开始时“Weekend homework should be abolished(废除).”“周末作业应该废除。”这里完全可以用一个cancel 或其它词更为合适,但他在此用一个非常大的词“abolish”此词多用一种社会制度等非常重大的问题。作者故意“小题大做”以引起人们的注意。第二句“Five days (which are) devoted to school are enough for the modern teenager……”“devote”意思是献身,往往指将一生献给祖国或热爱的事业,也用于男女之间表达真挚的爱情,如“Devote all my love”此文谈孩子上五天学本是应该的事情,谈不上“献出”。作者又在故意的夸张,以博取同情。
最后一句“If there were no homework to haunt weekends, students would go to school on Monday well rested and willing to work.”中的“haunt” 指一间房子里闹鬼魂,如“For year, villagers believed that Endley farm was haunted.” “多年来,村里都相信麦得力农场在闹鬼。”而作者不用“spoil(破坏、干扰)”,而用“haunt” 这个此处不当的词,目的在将作业比做闹鬼一样让人“坐立不安”,“心惊肉跳”。可见一个善于用词的人可以使文章“妙笔生挥”。

(进一步说明理由)③Because of all these other activities weekend homework is usually put off until Sunday night.(造成的后果)

这2句让人看不懂:学生到底是 help around the house, take in a football or baseball game or a good movie, join in family recreation, or just relax呢,还是do weekend homework???
前句在说学生因homework而不能做其他的事情;后句却说homework被put off。岂不前后矛盾?

哪里来的破文章?

不是第一次挂这篇东西了吧?怎么到现在才发现这个问题呢?只怕不给你指出,你还会继续犯错。
即便你的启蒙老师没讲解这个单词,从受启蒙到现在你也该知道了!

我刚才查了己出版的书,书上也是错的,也售出几万册。只有等再版了。再次感谢。spring也是个好老师,不说别人,好吗?

1.先是单词测试。
2.电脑会根据该生单词量,自动选出相应水平的文章。
3.文章又分新闻、科普、故事、小说、名人传记........收集了近万篇精选文章
4.学生选择后,开始阅读,单词不会时,只要点一下,电脑会自动发音并注释。
5.然后有选择练习,测验是否看懂。并指出学生的问题。

根据你的介绍,我看意义不大。理由如下:

1 、2两点实无必要。学生只需看1、2个页面就能知道文章难度,何必多此一举?更何况文章难易并非完全取决于生词的多少。
3点 很好。面广,接近生活。
4点 只能养成学生偷懒的习惯,不利于学生勤查词典习惯的培养。况且,光提供发音和注释就学习词汇来说是远远不够的。
5点  练习的形式在于“测验是否看懂”恐怕还不够。尽管阅读教学的目的培养阅读能力,但作为学习第二语来说,理解只是个前提。建议和语言学习的技能挂钩起来。譬如,让学生找出好词、好句、提供模仿造句的情景等等,总之,要通过这个软件,要让学生知道该怎么来学英语。
